Described as “one of the most sought-after Belgian musicians of his generation” (The Strad Magazine), Nicolas Dupont is a violinist whose artistry and versatility have earned him a prominent place on international stages. Based in Brussels since 2017, he has performed in iconic venues such as Wigmore Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields (UK), BOZAR, Flagey, AMUZ, and deSingel (Belgium), Philharmonie de Paris, la Seine Musicale (France), and the Boulezsaal (Germany), among others.
“Nicolas Dupont plays with an unprecedented flexibility and musicality.” (Radio Klara)
Nicolas’s musical journey has been shaped by exceptional teachers, including Dejan Mijajev, Yuzuko Horigome (Royal Conservatory of Brussels), Itamar Golan (chamber music, duo, CNSM of Paris), and Rodney Friend (Royal Academy of Music, London).
Nicolas thrives on collaboration, performing with esteemed artists like Yuzuko Horigome, Justus Grimm, Máté Szűcs, Mihaela Martin, Tatiana Samouil, Pascal Moragues, Daniel Blumenthal, Frans Helmerson, Rohan De Silva, Michel Arrignon, Gaby Van Riet, Michel Béroff, Gérard Caussé and Vineta Sareika.

His discography, remarkably extensive for his age, spans 25 albums and features works by Brahms, Prokofiev, Khatchaturian, Franck, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, Glazunov, Piazzolla, Poulenc, as well as many Belgian composers.
“His great violinistic talent and exceptional musical personality deserve to be recognized by everyone.” (Michel Arrignon)
Nicolas serves as the leader of the Ataneres Ensemble and has been a guest concertmaster with the Orchestre National de Lille, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, and Santander Festival Orchestra.
A Passion for Sharing Music
Nicolas is passionate about education and serves as a violin professor at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles. He loves sharing his vision and passion for music through masterclasses across Europe and beyond, while also offering technical insights and his structured approach to violin playing through articles in The Strad Magazine and Arco.
Life Beyond the Music
When Nicolas isn’t performing or teaching, he enjoys exploring his other passions—cooking up new recipes, traveling to discover different cultures, fishing to unwind, and spending time with his partner clarinetist Alba Mayorga Rodrigo and their two beloved cats, Nala and Maurice.
“If I would have to vouch for a few young artists that deserve to be heard Nicolas is absolutely one of them.” (Itamar Golan)
